Fullerton Child Attacked By Family Pit Bull

According to reports a Fullerton 3 year old girl was attacked by the family Pit Bull. According to Fullerton Police Sgt. Mike MacDonald the daughter of a Fullerton family from the 200 block of Costa Court was mauled by the family Pit Bull after the mother and daughter had taken the canine food to where it was chained in the back yard.

The mother returned to the house, leaving the child in the back yard, where a short time later the girl’s father and 11 year old brother who were watching television heard the girl screaming.

The brother found the male Pit Bull named Fly standing over his sister according to Sgt. MacDonald. The parents rushed the girl to St. Jude Medical Center and she was later transferred to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana according to reports. The child is being treated for severe puncture wounds to her face and neck.

Ryan Drabeck spokesman for the Orange County Animal Care Services stated that Fly the 4 year old Pit Bull was turned over to them by the family to be euthanized. According to reports the police are investigating the canine attack as possible child neglect.
